FESTIVALS AND EDUCATION


Evan’s work has been screened at Bijou Fest 2019, REDCAT 2019, AFI (JellyFest 2019), Sweaty Eyeball Festival 2019, Sick 'n' Wrong Film Festival 2020, Human Flesh Film Festival 2020, UIFF 2020, and Women in Film Festival 2020. as well as the Academy of Motion Pictures in Beverly Hills. His composition “Quarantine Reflections for Shakuhachi and Electronics” was released through Touch Music in John Tejada’s Compilation Album “Future Stars.”

Evan received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Composition and Experimental Sound Practices from California Institute of the Arts in 2020. While at CalArts, he studied with Karen Tanaka to understand all the layers, subtext, orchestral thought, and themes to be brought out within the film score, which reflect the inner worlds of characters and the narrative arc. He also studied with Steve Horowitz, composer for Super Size Me, who imparted the importance of realizing a director’s vision, staying humble and optimistic, and being happy to do as many passes for a score as possible, as well as best practices in spotting and more.
